Students MUST interview a family member (preferably someone older) as a way to gain further insights into factors people like or dislike in coins/bills. This will help them with research and will help them then design "Canada's next coin".

Today, students asked about valentines day. We decided that we could give Valentines to our friends as long as everyone in the class received one. So...if your son/daughter decides to hand out valentines it needs to be inclusive of the whole class.

Welcome Back 5A!
I hope everyone had a great break with friends and family. Please check out the bar on the right with some important information and details about the month of January. We are entering our last month of Intensive French, and will shift into our CORE subjects in February. I talked to the students a little bit about it today, and they seemed excited for the switch, yet focused to finish up our time in Intensive French. Just a reminder that students will still be in CORE with me as their teacher (versus switching teachers like 5B and 5C). It is important to note that students will still have approximately 2 hours of French per week. Students understand this may mean 2 periods one day of the week, or a couple periods throughout the week - we are flexible and will do what is best for student learning. If you have any questions about this transition, please don't hesitate to contact me ([email protected]). Here is a message from Parent Council -

More information is on the previous blog post. **This week's Wednesday Challenge is to wear green or red - Students in 5A have missed a lot of Health due to the COP Ski Day, Animation and Mobile Escape. They will therefore be having Health in the morning on Friday December 14th with Ms. Clark to catch up on the missed material before Report Cards come out in February. - We will be having a French Café on Friday December 14th (after nutrition break) with Mme Crant and Mme Valji's class. We will be speaking in French, cooking and sampling different treats. Each class is responsible for a specific item. Students wishing to help bake after school on Thursday are welcome to stay. Our class will be making strawberry shortcake cupcakes. ** I will chat with the students about this on Monday to ensure everyone understands the vision for our French Café. - I am working on adding some more marks to PowerSchool. Stay tuned. I will send an email to families once this is done so that you can check it out. You can expect to see the recent math quiz mark in Math, and two French marks (November speaking mark and a reading mark). |
